Lucas Oil Off Road Racing brings short course action back to Southern California for the first time this season. Rounds 9 & 10 of the 2010 season under the lights at the world famous Glen Helen Raceway in front of a sell out crowd. The drivers didn’t fail to disappoint with some of the closets racing action all season.

Austin Kimbrell won the round 9 and finished in 4th in round 10.

Based on the Speed broadcast of Utah race, this should be only Carl’s second time crashing during a race, however I

remember Carl & Johnny Greaves getting together and Carl rolling in a CORR race at Antelope Valley. So this weekend

would be Carl’s 3rd & 4th crashes during short course races.

Metal Mulisha General Brian Deegan hits and rides the K-rail after over shooting the table top trying to catch

Marty Hart during the Pro-Lite race in round 9. Not only did Deegan not get stuck on the rail, this collision didn’t cause

any major damage. Deegan managed to get clear of the wall and maintain second place where he finished just behind Hart.

The Rockstar Energy Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Challenge Cup was a fitting end to a very exciting inaugural season for Lucas Oil.

Drivers put it all on the line for their piece of $180,000.

27 Unlimited 2 & 4 trucks, and for the first time in shortcourse off road history buggies and trucks racing together on the same track made for an excited day of racing. The weather was perfect especially nice after a couple of rounds in the sweltering heat and one in the cold and wind.

45 degrees isn’t too bad, but it was the 30-40 mph constant winds that chilled you to your soul.

I’m sure the vendors that ordered extra sweatshirts for this weekend made a killing.
